TORONTO (Reuters) - For actor Nicolas Cage, making the new thriller movie "Trespass" hit close to home.

Cage, at the Toronto film festival along with director Joel Schumacher promoting the film about a home invasion, said that he has actually lived through the nightmare in real life.

"It was two in the morning. I was living in Orange County at the time and was asleep with my wife. My two-year old at the time was in another room. I opened my eyes and there was a naked man wearing my leather jacket eating a Fudgesicle in front of my bed," he told reporters on Wednesday.

"I know it sounds funny ... but it was horrifying."

Cage said the ordeal ended after he talked the man out of the house and police arrived. He did not press charges, as the man had mental problems, but Cage, who now lives in Nassau, Bahamas, said he could not stay in the house after that.

Russian jet carrying hockey team crashes

Russian jet carrying hockey team crashes
A passenger jet carrying a KHL hockey team has crashed while taking off in western Russia, killing 36 people, the country's emergency situations ministry said.

The ministry's regional branch said the Yak-42 plane crashed Wednesday after leaving an airport near the city of Yaroslavl, on the Volga River northeast of Moscow. It said at least one person has survived but is injured.

The ministry said the plane was carrying the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team.

The team's website lists Canadian and former NHL player Brad McCrimmon as the head coach, while the team's roster includes former Vancouver Canuck Pavol Demitra and former Ottawa Senator Josef Vasicek.

The team's roster lists two Canadians, Ramzi Abid and Riley Armstrong, brother of Toronto Maple Leafs forward Colby Armstrong.

But is unclear whether any of those players were on board.

The KHL is a league of several ex-Soviet nations that has attracted a number of NHL players to Russia in recent years.

Chicken Breast Stuffed with Spinach Blue Cheese and Bacon

Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - pounded to 1/2 inch thickness
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
Cook bacon until crisp. I prefer to use an indoor grill. Bacon can also be cooked in a skillet over medium-high heat, or the microwave at about 1 minute per slice. Drain on paper towels, and set aside.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a medium bowl, stir together the spinach and blue cheese. Crumble in the bacon, and stir to distribute.
Lay the chicken breast halves out on a clean surface, and distribute the spinach mixture evenly onto the centers of them. Fold the chicken over the filling, and secure with toothpicks. Stir together the flour, salt and pepper on a dinner plate. Roll the chicken in the flour to co

Do you have a ‘barking dog’?

The Real Reasons Your Dog Barks (and How to Make Him Stop)

Can't get your pooch to stop barking? Here are the top five reasons he's making such a racket - and foolproof ways to make him zip it.
1. Try to block your pup's exposure to stimuli that trigger the barking (squirrels, the mailman) -- a spray-on glass coating to block windows at his eye level often works well if he's inside. You can also keep him inside if he's usually outside during the day.
2. If your dog makes noise at people or other dogs while he's out on his walk, give him a soft treat (like a mini hot dog) to divert his attention before he starts barking.
3. If your dog gets flustered when he spots another passenger dog on car rides, try transporting him in a crate and leave him in the backseat.
If none of the tips above solve your problem, try quiet training

Shark bites off mans legs in Australia.

Shark bites legs off bodyboarder in Australia

SYDNEY - A shark bit the legs off a bodyboarder at a popular surfing spot in western Australia on Sunday, killing the man, police said. Authorities were searching for the shark as well as the man's missing limbs.

The man in his early 20s was bodyboarding with five friends when the shark attacked, a police spokesman said.

He died at the scene in the surfing haven known as The Farm, off Bunker Bay near the western town of Dunsborough. The beach was closed after the attack.

About 30 surfers were in the water when the shark attacked, according to a beachside cafe employee, Deb Pickett, who called police and an ambulance after hearing the disturbance.

She said helicopters were still searching the area for the shark late Sunday, while rescue staff searched for the man's limbs, which she believed had been taken by the shark.

Local official Ian Stubbs said it was the first shark attack in the area in more than 20 years.
